Religious experiences across the world are vast and very different. Treatment of women, childbirth in particular, is a striking exception. Across three very different religions: Puritanism, Islam, and Hindu child birthing practices generally center around common themes. Privacy during birth, a 40 day isolation period after birth, and an exclusion of men are all prevalent. The Puritan denomination of Christianity was born out of a disagreement with religious interpretations with the Church of England. The Puritan migration to America to escape religious persecution only renewed the veracity of the religion and its followers.
