Man Vs. Nature - Essay and Term Paper
On a day where turbulent wind and treacherous water overpowered any and all who dared to face it, I unknowingly embarked on an incident not soon to be forgotten while taking a weekend retreat to Elephant Butte. On arrival we were anxious to set up camp and spend the day out on the lake riding jet skis, but the weather conditions and a mishap hindered our excitement. Like David taking on Goliath, I entered the perilous water with intentions of winning a war, though I like a Napoleonic punk, I underestimated my devious foe, which set up a lost battle and sent me swimming to a near death experience that would forever change my outlook on life.
Before I could take on Mother Nature, there was preparing to do. Choosing a key camping cove inevitably was the most important task. Unfortunately my father chose one where Cacti and the smell of dead fish clouded the imagination, as I could only wish for shady trees and fragrant flowers. ......
