QUEEN GARBO
Queen Christina is the queen of Sweden. Traditions says that she has to marry Prince, Cousin Charles; but she doesn't love him and she wants to make free choices about whom to marry. She makes a choice though a stranger; the Spanish Ambassador whom she fall in love in a cold Swedish night at a barroom. Finally the story has a dramatic end, her lover dies and she starts to ship through her unknown destiny. Director wants viewers to write the scenario by their minds and uses cinematographic effects to underline the differences between sexual identities and individual desires.
According to a known film review writer Jefferey M. Anderson; Greta Garbo acts in the movie like; there is no director but actually there is one : Rouben Mamoulian. His most visible contribution to the film is its stunning final shot, Garbo standing in the bow of the ship, the wind in her hair, gazing into nothingness, as the camera slowly zooms......
