A Child’s Cry
“God, please protect me. I have come to this highly respected integrated school. I want to make friends not enemies. In the name of God, I shall enter this school” Jack exclaimed.
That morning he had been very excited. As soon as the alarm clock rang Jack quickly shut the alarm clock and tried to put himself to sleep again. He heard the door creaking and when he opened his eyes he saw his mother observing him closely. She affectionately placed her hand on Jack’s chin and kissed him on his cheek.
“Jack, this integrated school will give you a chance to prove yourself knowledgeable. Your previous school had no resources and its education was worthless. Remember one thing, you should make friends and especially be respectful towards your white teachers” Olivia explained.
Jack took her mother’s hand into his hands and gave her a comforting smile.
“Mom, don’t worries I won’t disappoint you.” Jack exclaimed.
