A Cleveland Browns Championship Trait
The Browns were once a great team and with the help of a great head coach, they were champions year after year. The late 40’s, 50’s and 60’s were the Championship eras for the Cleveland Browns and was a time of excellence and prosperity.
In 1945 the old Cleveland Rams & the owner Arch Ward moved to Los Angeles. The move left the Cleveland team open for buying. The new owner would soon be Author B. (“Mickey”) McBride, a great fan of football. In 1946, McBride hired head coach Paul Brown (167-53-8) who coached the OSU Championship team in 1942 and whom the team was named after because of his popularity throughout Ohio. He picked up many players from his old Championship OSU team and put them on the new Cleveland Browns team.
