In the past years, drug use has become a relatively common form of behavior for young people in Australia. The recreational use of drugs by young people is now seen as a normal part of leisure and something to do before going out rather than a deviant action experimented by only a few people. Drug abuse is often defined as the overindulgence or patterns of use that result in health consequences or impairment in social, psychological, and occupational functioning (Chemical 2006).
