The Path of Democracy
A democracy is a type of government where the people living in that country choose who is the ruler, or the people who make the laws. With the arrival of the loyalists a democracy tradition began which in time would blossom into a system that allowed the French and the English to coexist thus ending the violence cause by the exclusion of certain voices. This democratic system however has not fully democratic and as a result those without a voice rose up in the rebellion. The rebellion was quickly put down but in response Lord Durham was sent from Britain to find a solution. His report led to responsible government, a fully democratic system.
The arrival of the loyalists started the process of democracy. The loyalist changed the Canadian history by bringing their ideas of democracy. In order for the loyalists to be accommodated, Great Britain replaced the Quebec Act with
