galaxy collision - Essay and Term Paper
Galaxy collision was first discovered in the early 1900’s due to Hubble’s curiosity with trying to determine “morphological” classification for galaxies. Hubble and his colleagues were determined to explain two primary hypotheses about classification. The first question to be determined; was to see if there is a relation that can describe the expansion of the Universe, known as Hubble law. This explains variance in distance and look back time. The second reason was to be able to prototype classification of galaxies in hopes that future scientists would expand on this idea so that galaxy evolution would start to become more apparent. Hubble tuning fork theory was introduced was originally produced in 1936. The theory is a follows; ‘the handle of the fork consists of increasingly flattened elliptical galaxies, which are dominated by old stars and have little gas, dust, and young stars. The tongs of the fork consist of two parallel seq......
